Propulsion Fluid Systems Engineer

Froberg Aerospace seeks an outstanding and dedicated engineer to join the team in its development of paradigm shifting small satellite propulsion systems. This is a full-time position at Froberg's new headquarters located in Wilmington, NC. Due to Froberg’s ongoing policies regarding Covid-19 risk mitigation and the nature of the work in this position, the work may be performed remotely from any location within the United States for at least one year, subject to continued employment and negotiation. Responsibilities:

 

            -Design and develop propellant feed system for a novel multimode in-space                         propulsion system.

           

            -Develop and utilize computer models to aid in the design and testing of the feed                 system to meet customer requirements.

 

            -Work with test engineers to design and build test apparatus to verify model                         predictions.

 

            -Work with outside vendors to procure feed system components.

Required Qualifications:

 

            -BS in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or               similar field.

 

            -Previous experience with internal fluid systems (hydraulic and/or pneumatic). All                 fields encouraged to apply.

 

            -Previous experience in a suitable programming language such as Python or                       Matlab.

 

            -Demonstrated willingness and ability to work effectively independently.

 

 

Desired Qualifications:

 

            -Previous experience in spacecraft or rocket propulsion systems, particularly in                   design or development of propellant feed systems, and especially in                                   monopropellant and/or electric propulsion systems.

 

            -MS or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical                           Engineering, or similar field.

 

            -Previous experience modeling fluid systems using in-house developed code or                   existing solutions such as GFSSP.

 

To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
